I would stand by my boiling pots blowing the bubbles away
or fanning them away with a paper plate or whatever else I
could grab. I figured there had to be a better way."

Jim Green borrowed his wife's blow dryer, cut off the
handle and added a tube that would direct the air blown
onto a boiling pot, while the dryer was propped up on the
kitchen counter. Working for 15 years from that prototype,
Jim Green has perfected his Boiling Minder and is selling
the ingenious device for $19.99 at www.boilingminder.com .
The Boiling Minder is simple to use. Just turn
it on and aim the ventilator tube toward the top of the
boiling pot. When the liquid reaches a rolling boil it
will stay that way because the rush of air from the
Boiling Minder keeps the bubbling brew from overflowing.
The Boiling Minder is available in white, which complements any
kitchen decor. It's stable base makes it safe to use. Use the
built in timer so you can be sure your pot is being "watched"
when it comes to a boil, while you take care of other
details around the kitchen or in other areas of the house.
"Think about it. If you have a boiling pot, that's when
the phone's going to ring, or someone is going to come
knocking at your door. If you're like most parents, you've
learned to multi-task, but leaving a pot boiling on the
